So the prices are 3 years old?

it is also being discussed here.... http://baexpats.org/expat-life/23648-you-can-live-6-pesos-day-5.html

Ok so let put this thread down is it is already discussed, but my question was more about this promotion in carrefour than about the index discussion that is going on in the other topic

But I think that's exactly where this "promotion" came from, someone said in that other thread that the government forced this from Carrefour to support their budget claims. Hence hard to separate the two if so.

Just a glance shows what a joke the Carrefour list is. The only fruit is apples, 2 kilos for the 2 weeks, for a family of 4. 2 kilos is 8 to 10 apples. Less than one apple a day for the whole family to share!!

How many apples do you eat in a week? I have maybe one or two.

Plus, have you ever seem locals eating fruit? I know they do, but it doesn't seem to be very common. Maybe the bread they buy is vitamin injected? ;)

Well in UK the government-led health campaign recommends a minimum of 5 portions a day of fruit or vegetables. This campaign only offers one fruit type and one vegetable type, and only enough quantity for less than one quarter apple and one quarter to one half onion a day per person.
