President-elect Javier Milei is quickly toning down his aggressive rhetoric toward Argentina’s largest trading partners, raising the prospect that his administration may not be so disruptive for international affairs after all.

Now try quickly toning down your aggressive rhetoric toward reproductive rights, actually be the Libertarian you claim to be, and stop threatening women's libertad(!!!) to make their own choices regarding their bodies as well as toning down (really, just eliminate) the aggressive anti-science rhetoric and denial when declaring climate change to be nothing more than a "socialist lie." I'll patiently wait to see how you do (or tone down) on some of your other promises re: the economy.

While I support not cutting off our country's nose to spite our face, I think it's just further proof of Milei's grift. Yes, all politicians lie to get elected, but usually they wait to be sworn in to backtrack.

The caste is okay as long as they support him in Congress, and serve as his Minister of Security. China isn't evil anymore because they can serve as a source of much needed foreign currency. The cepo can't go away on December 11th and he's going to need more time than expected. We better get ready for the hyper, even though the caste was supposed to be paying for the adjustment, not the people.

I'm not disappointed or surprised because I expected nothing less nor did I support him, but I do find it funny how fast he's coming in to contact with reality. It's truly much easier to wield a chainsaw in front of a bunch of teenagers vs governing a country where what you say and do have actual consequences.

We keep hearing in the States that Milei is the Argentine Trump. They just elected the Dutch version of Trump in the Netherlands by the way. Trump certainly faced reality after being elected. Mexico obviously wasn't going to pay for the wall. But Trump did lift us out of economic doldrums. At least until the pandemic. Milei has a much more daunting task economically but I have to ask was the previous administration's economic scheme working? I hope you give this guy a chance instead of trying to undermine him constantly to get your party back in power. That was Trump's biggest roadblock, trying to fight political forces who were more interested in regaining power than what was good for the country.

Sorry, I meant "you" in the general sense. Not sure how you got the idea I don't support Milei. I'm all for giving him every chance to improve Argentina's economy. I hope he does. I suspect the powers that be hope he doesn't.
