Airlines Halting Venezuela Tix Sales; Could It Happen Here?

yes. Using sovereign national resources to help lift an entire generation out of poverty and ignorance is very bad indeed. It much better to just give the money to banks and financial institutions. I mean, just look how great the US is doing.

That is a nice story, but it is not what really happened in Venezuela. And just because the USA practices crony capitalism, that does not automatically validate the kleptocracy that installed itself in Venezuela. Chavez made no fundamental changes in Venezuela. All he did was take possession of the state apparatus (that were being controlled by other thieves) and used it to consolidate his power base with handouts. Two gangs with two different styles, but two gangs nevertheless.

that is your opinion. Obviously there are millions upon millions who disagree with you. I am one of them. Now answer these basic questions. How many schools and hospitals were built during the last decade under Chavez? And how many more people have free access to them today as opposed to a decade ago? Also, give me some statictical figures, education, poverty, infant mortality, literacy, access to emergency medical care. You know, the basic fundamentals of life. How many more people are living better now than they were a decade ago? There was corruption before Chavez, during Chavez and there will be corruption in any future governments, so rhetorical arguments are worthless unless you're trying to convince a group of ignorant middle schoolers. The basic difference with Chavez is he spent billions upon billions helping out the poor and nameless and the wealthy and their paymasters hate him for it. Our beliefs are diametrically opposed, let's just hash it out at the ballot box. Unless you fear less people buy into your narrative.

Isnt this thread about airlines and their possible pulling out of Argentina?
I enjoy some of the other comments but we are staying a bot off the the topic path.....which so often happens on this site :(

And how many homicides under Chávez? Will Maduro match or surpass him in this basic fundamental? http://www.csmonitor...s-rampant-crime
