May 8th - just step across this line
May 11th - just knock this off my shoulder
May 22nd - just step inside this circle

If you’re going to bring in a hired gun, at least make sure he’s fully loaded.

It was the last thing Martín Guzmán needed at a time when he must increase his negotiating capacity with external creditors and also try to convince the Argentines to go against their natural tendency to buy dollars. But it was also inevitable: sooner or later the data was going to appear about what your personal preferences are when it comes to saving.

And so it was that the information that the Minister of Economy himself disclosed in his sworn statement was published - and immediately went viral on social networks: he has part of his savings invested in dollars, more specifically in a checking account and a box savings in the United States, in addition to other dollar accounts in the country.

it's definitely a bad look, but it's hard to blame the guy. who in their right mind would convert those savings to pesos given the situation here?

any policies to try to get people investing in pesos are just putting lipstick on the pig. fix the real problems instead.

In a word >>> HYPOCRITICAL!

"Do as I say, not as I do."

People anywhere, but in this case, the people of Argentina are not dumb. They can figure this one out for themselves quite easily.

If the leaders don't commit to the plan, how can they expect the citizens to?

Human nature is what it is. This is why things will never change. People are sneaky and greedy. Plain and simple.

So, so very sad this situation is. How can we have better lives when our leaders are so corrupt?

As long as he's declaring his income, who cares? If he's following the laws, there's nothing hypocritical. Especially since this situation was caused by Macri, not him.

Not true. Macri doesn’t come into it. Back in the CFK days, she was exposed as having a lot of dollars abroad when she was leading the charge of “pesofication”. When she was asked by a journalist why she was saving in dollars abroad and not pesos she responded “You never know what might happen next in Argentina”. It wasn’t Macri that turned all USD savings and pension funds in Argentina into devalued Pesos overnight back in 2002 sparking this “distrust of the system”.

I care. If a person in the capacity of government isn't being a HOMER ... ie being true blue to all things DOMESTIC ... it is kind of difficult to follow along with what your government is asking it's people to do.
