No way around on getting hit with import taxes and shipping here is always expensive for the most part. This is Argentina I so wich these facts were not true but they are.

As far as I understand, Amazon USA is not shipping to Argentina for the time being. I think that shipments to Argentina are available from Amazon/UK. Amazon/Spain and perhaps other european countries.

I'm not sure that I'm yet ready to risk the brain damage associated with getting ordered stuff here from whichever version of Amazon might claim to be able to deliver it but, if it is books you are after, The Book Depository, bookdepository.com is an Amazon company, delivers everything free and is often cheaper than Amazon itself. So far (crosses fingers, touches wood) all my deliveries to Argentina from them have been successful and door-to-door.
