American Club

A friend invited me to lunch at the American Club the other day. I had never been. The food was good. The dining room has a spectacular view of the Teatro Colon. I'm curious about this place. Any members in this forum? Anyone have any opinions? Thanks. - Richard

The American Club Lunch is quite good, also has.some great social events sometimes open to non-members, Happy hours gather some foreign Embassies Personnel .

Also, does anyone know what it costs to join? Then monthly dues?

I can imagine the process for passing muster to be invited, so that's not the question I have. Just HOW MUCH?... and Is the price in Dollars? Pesos? or EITHER?

What the heck is the American Club? (on a side note- is the American Embassy having a 4th of July party for Americans in the city? Also what about the French embassy on 14 July?)

I think the US embassy throws a July 4th party. But it is not at the embassy. I seem to recall that it is at Lincoln.

american club is only by invitation & about 300pesos monthly.
the restaurant is quite good and prices very affordable

So it's essentially a VIP club that you pay a monthly association fee in order to attend the dinners and pay for the dinners as well? I don't understand what the benefits are?

I think you can actually go to the restaurant without being a member. I was invited down for lunch a couple of weeks ago by a non-member.
