Seems like a very archaic, colonial type of concept. I cant imagine hipster digital nomads joining, and there are very few of the old style US conglomerates still operating here.
If you want a similar lunch experience, the Naval Club, on Maipu and Cordoba, has ancient waiters, 1960s menu items, interiors and furniture untouched for decades, and a view of the microcento. And its cheap and pretty decent, basic, food. On the website, lunch is listed at $1500 pesos.
I have eaten there last year, and enjoyed the time travel, and the meal.

Not the same. The American Club used to have social events, cocktail parties, lectures, holiday events of interest to Americans and other English speakers. That won't happen over lunch at the Naval Club.

I had lunch at Central Naval. It was really awful. The food was inedible.

The American Club was the prime meeting place for the American Chamber of Commerce events with over 300 members representing major American companies still operating in Argentina. Perhaps wasn't meant to cater to digital nomads..?

I had lunch at Central Naval. It was really awful. The food was inedible.

The restaurant doesn't even look nice in the publicity photo. Surprisingly no table cloths; more like a place to eat a sandwich. I suspect they're just trying to survive.

Are there any American companies left in Argentina. My old company packed its bags and left not long after I did.
