I have found professionals in Argentina to be competent, some extremely talented. The general population is literate. Some may have limited cultural knowledge but in my experience no less so than the USA population. It's true, however, that quality of state school education has declined which accounts for the growth of private schools. Compared to the rest of Latin America, Argentina ranks high. It is especially strong on the university level which is why so many students from other countries choose to study in Argentina.

I’m a bit confused by your perspective. From the way you describe Argentina( the people, the prices, the culture) it sounds like you don’t find much you enjoy here. I’m genuinely curious: what makes you want to stay? You have the freedom and resources to live elsewhere, like your home country or somewhere more affordable in SE Asia, so I’m wondering what keeps you here.

Sergio, the reason why many foreign students came here for higher education was because the education was free; which many Brasileños told me. I'm glad that this is no longer the case, as far as I understand.

Yes free - and high quality. But there ARE foreign students who pay the fees for PRIVATE universities in Argentina

The wealthy in Argentina have control over what laws get passed, no matter who the president.
