Argentina Primary Election Scenario Analysis

Good analysis of the system, poor on candidates. Larreta and Morales were key members od De la Rua government that crash Argentina on 2001 with the corralito. Bullrich was a subversive Terrorist on the 70’, you can easily find her picture on line. Massa comes from UCEDE that was the liberal party, a libertarian who was waiting for decades for enforcing his political ideas. Milei says is a libertarian but many of his proposals are about master’s right abolished with slavery. Remember the idea about sell your kidneys, to stop public education (if was forbidden to teach to read and write to slaves).

Finding the correct MESA and then waiting in line took much longer than in previous years. I enjoyed passing the time talking with a six-year-old girl who is learning English. She seemed bored waiting in line with her mother. I asked her to name colors and count. She had excellent pronunciation.

The ballot/envelope system for voting is excellent. The US could learn something from Argentina. I heard that the IMF insisted on machines which took longer to use and process than the paper ballot.

I was in and out today in 10 minutes. My voting "precinct" had a special room for expats voting. There was no line.

  1. If the Oficialism receives preferences over 50%, Monday the dollar goes way up?
  2. If the Opposition gets over 60 % combined, Monday the dollar drops 5 pesos?

It was quick for me, literally took longer to walk to the classroom than to vote, and there were no issues with the machine for me

The polling place is 2 blocks from my bldg. in Caballito. I arrived at 12:30pm and waited in line for 2 hrs. to enter the school.
It took much longer than in previous years. Once inside I was in and out in 5 minutes. There were no issues with the machines.
