Hi, I’ve been in Argentina many years but I’ve never actually worked for a local company, I’ve always freelanced, but things are tough right now. I’m thinking I might need to do some job hunting soon.

Do any expats (residents) have experience applying for jobs in local companies? My Spanish is pretty good, but not perfect. Perhaps there are some companies where a native English speaker would be seen as an asset? Kind of a bit lost right now.

Any tips or advice would be greatly received!

A resume would help someone here guide you. What are your skills, experience, interests, etc.

Maybe trading stocks, I mean buying right now is a better option? If you have access to US market, wait and see the bounce.
A regular job add on top would help but it won't go further...usually

I spent some time last year working for the local branch of a Big 4 consulting firm, and being a native English speaker was absolutely one of the reasons I was hired over an Argentine.

I ended up leaving after a few months because I got an offer I couldn't refuse from a startup, but if that hadn't happened, I could've kept living comfortably on the salary. You won't get rich, but 3 palos wasn't a bad income en blanco last year.
