Applying for citizenship via email

Hello Nikad- I much admire your knowledge on the goings on here in "the Arg" and the help you give to others. Just a quick question: I've been a permanent resident here for over 20 years, and was wondering if there's any advantage in becoming a citizen. Sending regards.
Argentine passport is a great one if you travel
a lot. My wife uses her AR passport when she travels everywhere even though she holds EU passport as well. With the EU passport even the visa free nations require a fee at the border while AR passport is completely free. And people seem to be more sympathetic towards Argentines ending up with free upgrades etc. But if you hold PR and live here or intend to visit ever 2 years then you don’t need the citizenship. But as Nikad said; it’s free and you’re entitled to it, and if you have love for the country then why not!

I searched google for "b0742a574fe8db987ed6f7117a381a5e-11212023120649" and came up with what looks like a cached copy of the form. You have to wait 30 seconds to see the document and they make you register to download it so I'm pasting its contents here:

MAILS CORRESPONDIENTES A CADA UNA DE LAS SECRETARIAS EN LAS QUE TRAMITAN LAS SOLICITUDES DE CARTA DE CIUDADANÍA.

Los interesados/as deberán tomar nota de la direccién de e-mail que corresponda a la Secretaría donde tramita su solicitud de ciudadanía y enviar un correo electrónico a la misma con los datos de identificación pertinentes para activar la continuación del trámite.

Searching for "MAILS CORRESPONDIENTES A CADA UNA DE LAS SECRETARIAS EN LAS QUE TRAMITAN LAS SOLICITUDES DE CARTA DE CIUDADANIA," I also found this document, which matches the information pasted above and is hosted on the same server that has the instruction sheet and the form
No way!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

You had to bring in the originals? They told me to bring a copy of it all ... I wonder if I messed up?
All Courts have different procedures. Courts 1, 5 and 7 do not want hard copies. Courts 2 and 7 request to show originales before oficios. Courts 11, 3 and 10 requests to show them just before passing sentence.

If you apply via email without apostille but take the originals when they ask you to do so, would that be acceptable? If you got a permanenete they have all your docs already.

it is not true. You initially submit by email and once they reply you have to present everything in person.
Hello Nikad. I believe that your American husband went through the Argentina citizenship process.

On May 8th, my physical documents for citizenship were accepted at the Ministerio de Justicia at Libertad 731. The receptionist said that within 20 days, I will receive a notification from the court. I am trying to determine the steps in the process from this point forward and what the time frame might be.

Is this coming email notification the approval or denial decision from the judge? Or, is it simply notification that my solicitation has been accepted for review by the court, and that I will receive a future notification regarding a date and time to have an interview with the judge whose name is on the Caratula?

You seem knowledgable regarding this topic and so I wanted to ask your opinion. Thank you.

I re-read the email the sent - they just wanted a photocopy of all the documents:
Le adjunto la carátula de las actuaciones que, junto con el formulario de inicio impreso y fotocopia de la documentación, debe presentar en la Mesa Receptora de Escritos ubicada en Libertad 731 PB CABA, dentro del plazo de 5 días hábiles.Horario de 7.30 a 13.00 hs.

Anna, I have been assigned to Court # 5.

I brought both originals and copies of all required documents to the Ministerio de Justicia at Libertad 731. The receptionist was a good guy who picked through my documents; keeping the original Certificado Domicilio and then copies of everything else. He stapled them, stamped the back, signed the stamp and I received the Caratula a few days later.

Once you have your docs entered and a case number assigned you can follow its progress online. Next step they will ask you to present proof of income. We are at this stage. The case moves slowly and the final decision can take several months.
