sorry to ask such a simple question, but i keep getting mixed replies.
and i have friends in from out of town looking to go out sat night.

i know during federal elections, no alcohol is to be served the night before, and all shops are closed on the sunday.

is it the same for this sunday's "mayor" vote?
I know sat is also 9 de Julio....
confused!
thanks

My boyfriend is Argentine and he mentioned yesterday that the bars will have to close at 12am this Saturday night. (So, when the clock strikes Sunday.)

can anyone confirm 100% Hepdoll's info?
thanks

It seems as if the same rule about selling alcoholic beverages applies for these elections too?

According to the link, the ban on alcohol sales begins Friday morning at 8.

I'm at a loss to explain what on earth this has to do with elections. Seems a bit too WASPish for a Latin American country.

That said, I'll be pretty impressed if they actually enforce this all the way until Sunday.

Usually elections = prohibition, and you can't buy booze in the store. They cover up the alcohol section so you won't be tempted.
