I am currently on the US on long visit and have been reading comments in the Argentine media that the authorities are finally attempting to shut down the dollar blue market, cuevas, etc. Anyone actually in the City who can shed light on the situation on the ground: is this just an idle threat or is is possible the peso black market may actually be shut down in Buenos Aires. Gracias

As the popular Mark Twain* saying goes, "I don't know why people say it's hard to give up smoking, I've done it hundreds of times".

*The quote is indeed popularly attributed to Mark Twain, but the veracity of said attribution is rather doubtful.
