So, the government was spending 14% of GDP to buy some Resources. But now, luckily, it can no longer spend this money because Milei took it from them. After about a year of private investment, private businesses will finally get hold of these Resources, and then the economy will boom. Now, it is clear as day.
It's my understanding that this is actually a common oscillation between public and private sector. The idea being that during recessionary times the public sector steps up to boost GDP/employment with spending deficits programs until boom times, whereupon the private sector expands and the public sector recedes to shore up it's reserves for the next lean times. Politics has unfortunately caused many people to misunderstand this process and it now swings from extremes like "the private sector cannot be trusted and all GDP expansion should be under the auspices of the public sector" to "the public sector cannot be trusted and all GDP expansion should be under the auspices of the private sector".

Only someone without basic knowledge of Argentine history can describe Milei's economic failure as unexpected. This already happened with Martinez de Hoz and Cavallo, which led to the social upheaval of 2001, the corralito and the default. Milei has managed to have the highest inflation in dollars in Argentine history.

Actually, Bajo-cero I agree more with Stan Tucker's post than yours although, with the exception of your last sentence, you are spot on. And yes, everything in finance these days is "unexpected".

Cherrypicking, exaggeration. We all do it.

According to data published at the time, inflation in 2014 was 15% and in 2015 it was 22%
These were the last two years of Cristina's presidency.

Also, if you look here, the only time it's been over 200% was after Milei took over
