Argentina becomes first country to approve genetically modified wheat

The agricultural and wine sectors are the two shining lights of this country. It'd be in even deeper shit without them

And yet all too often Buenos Aires shits all over them, regardless of which party is in power. They backed Macri in 2015, and he *****ed them harder and deeper than Cristina ever dared to.

A good analogy is what happened when the SRA had their last stock show at La Rural, some 6-8 months ago. It was the showing of the bulls, and a bunch of "radical vegans" jumped down into the ring, with the bulls, and started shouting their silly slogans and waving their brightly colored signs. Now, what will many bulls do when you shout and wave brightly colored things in their vicinity? Anyone? So the gauchos, (or whatever they call cowboys here), quickly rode out and put themselves between the vegans and the bulls, trying to shoo them out of the ring and back up into the stands, (the vegans, that is, not the bulls). Apparently some of the gauchos drew their knives and waved them in the air. One vegan was shouldered by a horse and knocked down. Nobody got trampled, nobody was gored, nobody suffered any injury worse than minor bruises. But the next day the media was screaming about the "violence" of the SRA. And apparently no-one learned anything.

My point here is just the yawning abyss of mis-understanding between the rural and the urban. City fools whose idea of animals comes from a Disney movie never realized they were in very real danger of winning a Darwin award right there in front of everyone.
