Please post some of your favorite indi acoustic artists. Am interested primarily in Argentina artists but also Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile, and Bolivia. I got a lot of ideas from the thread on Argentine Electronic Folklore thread but I'd like to find more artists in the mainstream and pop genre.

Thanks!

Here are a couple that come to mind:

Mahatma Dandys

I've seen each of the above numerous times. Usually in a formal show, but sometimes just playing for fun on the street. Parque Centenario is a good place to hear random music on Sat or Sun.

Since you mentioned Uruguay and acoustic, Murga is the first thing that comes to mind. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but this one should be interesting:

Agarrate Catalina is one of the most popular murga groups. This guy is one of their primary singers:

This thread got buried in middle school drama and the socialist/libertarian debate, but I was hoping to see what other music people had to share.

Flopa-Minimal seems to fit your criteria

I like this guy- Benito Malacalza. Cant remember if I saw him play or not- I think I might have met him and he gave me his CD, but I am not sure.
