Argentine own goal

I'm wondering what the peso will do now that the dollar has started it's slide down. Everyone can get dollar now, it's FREE!!!!

Not sure what you are looking at, a lot of people here have been predicting the collapse of the dollar. Don't think you can make predictions based on one or two days of data. Doesn't look like a weakening in the dollar is in the near future against most currencies especially the peso. The three month trend of the dollar vs. the euro is in the following link. I might just head back to Europe if this continues.

"...HOUSTON - Exxon Mobil Corp., the world’s largest publicly traded oil company, reported income Thursday that shattered its own record for the biggest profit from operations by a U.S. corporation, earning $14.83 billion in the third quarter...."

Money should be made in both trends, Hallelujah.
Anyone with formal economical education may toss his/her study books to recycle bin.
Anyone dare to come up with ANY feasible or remote explanation on what just happened? Not in sense that “majority” of investment ran into crude oil – as we all being told investors are “very” cautious these days.
Then who moves the money into BP and Exxon, even on recent production cuts by OPEC?
Did America and EU begin driving more frequently? Take lunch-time rides to their homes? Gas drop from $4.40 down to $2.40. Now everyone is encouraged to take frequent rides to their corresponding mailboxes up to 3 times a day preferably in SUV and off-roads.

Air carriers reported high volume of travelers?
China emptied all cargo tankers dry in their record-breaking speed?
GM reported heavy intercontinental sales gains in recent quarter?
...

Anyone smells sulfur?:D

Air carries reported high volume of travelers?! Well the holidays are approaching and if everyone else is getting a "bail-out" might as well max out the cards. Just the other day the news was talking about declines in travel

What if inflation in Argentina or other countries, ie US get this out of hand?

I see smoke and mirrors...

Yes there are many articles of Argentina, the best is written by Eduardo Galeano, but he does not favor us by writing about the current crisis which we all know by now was perpetrated by the American Friedmanite fraternity.
Argentina is as always been ripe with corruption. Mr. Kirshner, when he was Governor sent abroad 575 millions of which he has never, never reported how much he made personally in interest.
Then we have the soja deal. That was defeated. Next we have higher taxes and so on. Who was the brain child behind the pension ripoff? Mr. Kirshner from the start.
Yes alot has been written and most of it bad for Argentina but sadly much of it is based on facts.
Would any of you accept 30 cents on the dollar?

But even sadder are the people who keep voting for the Peronists to govern. You get what you pay for and you receive what you asked for.

Accept the truth. Argentina is going to go through some real tough times ahead in 2009. Commodities are down over 50% and likely to go lower. It is just not this country that is heading for trouble but the whole world. Problem is Argentina as history has clearly shown has never learned anything from its sorid past of GREED. Greed by and from the foreigners and every last single leader in this country from the last 150 years.

Yes the Americans have bled this country dry, but are Canadians doing so right now in the rich fields of gold and silver. But, lets not drop the fault on them, let us take a shot at those who govern this country sole for self profit.
And lastly anyone out there who thinks everything will be different once ObamBam is elected is dreaming.
Accept history and facts as the truth to where we are heading in 2009 folks.
thats all I have to say
