Argentine stabbed in NYC

I live every day like it my last cause all it is going to take some retard texting in his car and I am gone. We are surrounded by a huge percentage of the population that is dumber than a box of rocks. Sadly they breed like rabbits and they vote which will be our demise before long. There is zero history of cancer of my family but that will stop an idiot with a cell phone from killing me.

It's true that his bill will be enormous if he doesn't have medical insurance. Since the family are raising money I have to assume that he is not coveted. So far they've raised a little over $11,000 which will not pay for much of anything. I know someone who was hospitalized for five days in the US a little over two years ago. The bill, exclusive of surgeon's fees, was $175,000. The hospital will bill and if not paid it will go to a collection agency who will haunt the family mercilessly. Then if a payment plan is not reached the victim's credit will be ruined. If this poor guy were a tourist he could return to Argentina and ignore the bill (as some people I know have done) and there would be little, if anything, that the hospital could do but as he lives in NY, he is in a different situation. Medical care in the US is a big business. It's much less so in Argentina but in Argentina a private hospital will turn away someone who is not insured and send him to a public hospital. Anyway at this point the poor victim is fighting for his life. Costs are a secondary concern.

Perhaps the easiest way to "cure" cancer is not to get it in the first place.

Since this thread probably won't get much attention after a few days I hope no one will seriously object to what follows. I will copy and paste it in any future thread in which it might apply

The best way not to get cancer, diabetes, or becoming obese (which increases the risk of getting cancer) is never eat the following (compiled from several on line lists):

Municipal (tap) water
Cured meats (including ham, pastrami, lunch meats and sausage)
Red meat (especially smoked, charred or well done)
Fried food of any kind
Microwave popcorn and potato chips
Baked goods made with white flour (cookies, donuts, bagels, croissants, bread, pizza, etc)
Pasta (unless made from whole wheat flour)
Pickled foods of any kind (beets, olives, cucumbers, peppers, etc.)
Alcoholic beverages of any kind
Artificial sweetener
Soft drinks of any kind (including diet soda and those sweetened with high fructose corn syrup)
Soy protein (TVP and tofu)
Farm raised fish and shrimp
Margarine, vegetable oils, and anything made with hydrogenated vegetable oil.
Canned fruits and vegetables (especially tomatoes and green beans)
Canned soup of any kind
Refined (white) sugar and Corn syrup (Karo)
Fat free and low fat milk
Table salt
Cookies and Candy of any kind (including alfajores and protein bars)
Non-organic apples and strawberries
Fruit juice (of any kind)
Processed "cheese"
Dried fruits with sulfur (apricots and pears)
Canned tuna (though I have some packed in water not oil) on hand in case of a long term food shortage

Here's what I eat and drink the most of:

RO Water (at least two liters per day), Green tea and Coffee
Fresh fruits (pears, apples, tangerines)
Fresh vegetables (especially beets, carrots, broccoli, green beans, red onions, red (sweet) peppers, red cabbage)
Acelga (grows wild here) and basil (I grow my own)
Lemon juice (fresh, used on steamed vegetables and with olive oil and raw garlic as a liver cleanse)
Whole wheat bread (baked locally without preservatives)
Oatmeal (traditional)
Raw Honey
Raw Almonds
Balsamic and apple cider vinegar
Olive oil (always purchased in 500 ML cans)
Garlic
Butter
Soy sauce, Sriracha Chili Sauce
Black pepper, Sea salt, Cayenne pepper, Cumin,Turmeric,Curry powder,Cinnamon powder, Nutmeg, McCormick chili and Italian, seasoning, Oregano, Paprika
Dried beans (red, black, white, garbanzo), split peas
Brown rice
Boiled red and "gold" potatoes (I grow my own)
Baked sweet potatoes and squash
Boiled eggs (can be found on some never eat lists). I buy them from a neighbor
Raw seed mix (sesame, sunflower, linseed, chia, etc)
Popcorn (air popped only)
Vegetable soup (w/wo brown rice)
Grated cheese (used sparingly on whole wheat pasta)
Dried prunes and dates (when available)
Hummus (homemade with garbanzos, olive oil, and garlic)
Chili (made with dry kidney beans, tomatoes (in season),sweet red peppers, onion and seasonings). I occasionally use "tomate tritutrado" (pure) which is sold in glass jars. I do not use canned tomatoes or tomato paste or tomato pure that is sold boxes.

Items I would consume if they were locally available (and/or reasonably priced):

Dark chocolate (80% coco)
Natural peanut butter (Especially Laura Scudder's)
Blue corn chips (baked)
Tamari sauce (as opposed to commercial soy sauce)
Whole wheat pita bread (without preservatives)\
Coconut oil
Fresh parsley

PS: The most important food "rule" I follow (almost 100% compliance) is only to eat fresh fruit in the morning and never eat fruit in combination with any other food.
Steve, I have been trying to switch to this sort of whole food diet, but I have found it hard to transition in Argentina. Firstly, are the oils (even coconut and olive) to be avoided? All the material I read suggests they are as bad as any other diet component. Secondly, I hope this is not personal, but how much does it cost you per week to sustain your diet?

They will have no mercy when it comes time to collect you can sure of that. It will bounce around from collection agency to collection agency and they will get call after call. Could be worse some cop could plant drugs on him get locked and then used as slave labor. Greatest country in the world. American Kool Aid!

There’s little that can be done even by the collections agencies if they reside outside of the US because foreign wages cannot be garnished due to collections, so yes, I’m sure that like any vicious collections debt recovery they will try their hardest to scare them into paying while still in US but it will be futile, i don’t even think they can call non-US numbers.

This guy lives in the US so he will get a bill. If he doesn't survive his family will get the bill.

If they are willing to enlist you to die for oil and deceive you into thinking you are defending the homeland. Now that is evil. If they are willing to lock you up for a profit and make you slave labor for more profit, Now that is evil. If you cannot afford your medical you will pay for that with everything you are worth and then bankrupt your entire family, now that is pure black from hell evil. So glad God was good enough to pull this one out of the Matrix. Their Kool Aid does not work on me.
