I’ve been led to believe it’s real. Nothing underhand, everything labelled correctly. Marketed as well, similar to beef. It’s not my thing, but there are countries in Europe (France and Germany come to mind) that market horse meat. Oh well.

Yes, I guess. There used to be a few stalls at the Viktualienmarkt in the centre of Munich selling horse meat. Not my thing, and it’s probably a come-down in Argentina. A sign of the times.
