Ba Bookshop Capital Of The World...

Well, some Americans definitely could use more time at the book store.

These folks are clearly the beneficiaries of conservative home-schooling. Imagine asking them about rising sea-levels or whether dinosaurs and humans ever co-existed.

Johnnie, Does this book store has a large collection of English books? Where is it exactly located? thanks

Ceviche, you have never seen http://www.yenny-elateneo.com/local/? Ateneo Grand Splendid traditionally has English-language books, but I'm not sure what import restrictions have wrought - as we all know, non-Argentine books are dangerously toxic: http://www.romancing...ns-foreign.html. That applies even to books not written by a certain hack "philosophical" novelist whose works are more suitable for the inodoro.

I never thought that Argie book stores could be selling English books. I am a heavy kindle user but lately been missing paper books.

Many bookstores along Florida - the main Ateneo branch is there - used to carry English-language books, though the selection was always fairly limited. There are far fewer bookstores now, though.

The second hand book stores along corrientes tend to have some English books, Salvation army place too. Although the selection can be pretty random!

There's a bookstore on Marcelo T de Alvear, I think it's between Talcahuano and Uruguay (within a block on Marcelo T in either direction anyway) called Books In English. They don't have much of a better selection, but they have a lot of them. Also books for studying English and a lot of other school-level books for history, economics and such as well as kids books.

On reflection, the best expat bookshop city, per capita, could be Chang Mai, Thailand. Literally everywhere, and tons of books.
