Ba Bookshop Capital Of The World...

There's a bookstore on Marcelo T de Alvear, I think it's between Talcahuano and Uruguay (within a block on Marcelo T in either direction anyway) called Books In English. They don't have much of a better selection, but they have a lot of them. Also books for studying English and a lot of other school-level books for history, economics and such as well as kids books.

Its KEL

And long may it continue I say.
The KEL bookshop in Martinez is one of my favourites and although it's ugly, warehouse looks are not very inviting, it's packed with thousands of books in English.
I've been going there for ten years. The staff are really helpful and often you can find books that are no longer in print.
Seeing as it was my birthday on Thursday, I went there to find one book, A Planet for The President by Alistair Beaton which I once owned but accidentally lost in a hotel and there it was waiting for me.
You'd be hard pressed to find such as vast collection of books in English in many other non-English speaking countries.
When I walk into KEL I feel a kind of peace and tranquility come over me and I'll never do that electronic Kindle stuff. Never ever.

If you live in Martinez you should check out B.A.B.S Bookstore. in Acasuso. It's a charity shop that benefits the British American Benevolent Society.
They have a great selection of used English language books. The address is Ave. Santa Fe 512. About six blocks from the Acasuso train station.
It's run by little old ladies that speak English. I try to go there a couple of times a year.
