So they are incentivizing an inflow of dollars to their holdings rather than peso … yet another sign that banks see problems on the horizon for the peso

Interesting...though I can't imagine this will last long before cuevas begin offering a superior rate to MEP. By my math at a an outgoing wire fee of $45 (BofA), Macro is only cheaper than WU when we are talking USD transfers over $500.

I doubt there are many people out there holding Argentine pesos in foreign bank accounts.

Thanks for your comments I''m also with BofA and Macro. WU is very expensive today. If it helps one can use Dolarapp with a fee of $3 per transfer, or Moneygram with a fee of $1.90, for transfers to Macro peso cuenta de ahorro.

Moneygram canceled every account I tried opening with them after 1 transfer due to "security" reasons they could never care to explain. A worthless app as far as my experience.

I recall briefly researching Dolarapp, but I think there was some catch. It requires an intermediary app to fund it, right? Or were you able to link it directly to your BofA? What commission does it charge?
