UK Man:
What you describe in paragraph one is called-----Hedging-----it has been a common practice in Argentina for about 70 years since John Sunday's time.
"No te gastes ,compañero------Don't wear.yourself out,my friend"
You should have been when you had to wait until you got to the check out to know the price.

Another bank strike announced for Thursday Dec 15...this time around is for 24 hrs.....

Confirmed this morning......24-hr strike is still on for Dec 15.

I noticed that they were careful not to schedule this week's strike on Friday the 16.Friday and Monday are favorite days for them to make a 3 day weekend.
Dec.16 is the day that I and milliones of other Argentine jubilados are set to collect our Dec.retirement and Christmas bonuses shrined in gold by John Sunday and Little Evie
The Banking Union would have to incurr the well deserved rath of I'm not sure how many millions of Argentine retirees which as good Peronistas they want to avoid.
" Peron legisla,Evita dignifica "------------and don't you forget it !!!

UPDATE.......
Wednesday, Dec 14........24-hr strike by international banks ONLY
Thursday, Dec 15.....24-hr strike by ALL banks

13 December 2016

El miécoles 15*** paralizarán las tareas los trabajadores de los bancos extranjeros y, al día siguiente, se sumarán a la huelga los bancarios de todas la entidades financieras, agregó el dirigente gremial.

***correction: Wednesday is the 14th, not the 15th

Once again La Union Bancaria is tip toeing around Friday,Dec.16 because it's Jubilados payment day.
Their past president along with his wife --whose names I can not recall---are in the slammer for sticking their hands in union's retirement fund.
Will they ever learn in Argentina. Paro, paro and more paro ---Work stoppage, work stoppage and more work stoppage to screw over the consumer public
Fewer and fewer customers will need to use human teller services. It's not wise to tick them off.

Update:
Bank strike scheduled for tomorrow was "temporarily" suspended........

La Asociación Bancaria (AB) suspendió "provisoriamente" el paro dispuesto para mañana para asistir a la audiencia convocada por Trabajo el viernes.
