What are the Contenders?

I'm in Soho, at Paraguay/Armenia, but I'm willing to march a little for the most important meal of the day.

I've checked out Oui Oui, and I thought it was great (if a little pricey). I've also been to La Blé, in Chacaritas, which does a fantastic continental, but it's much too far (I've heard rumour there's one in Palermo?)

So, what else is there?

If you have access to a refrig and stove, why not make it yourself? Healthier, cheaper, faster. And you can do it all in your pj´s.

There's a Le Ble on Dorrego, not too far away from Corrientes (so you can take the B-line there). Its bigger than my local, Chacarita one. I'm currently avoiding the place in protest against their decision to stop making chocolate tarts. I fear it won't be long before its no more than a cafe con leche and media luna joint with a french name.

There's always one.

I'm sure you didn't realise that I already know I can make breakfast in my own home... So, I'll let you off this once.

I thought the Dorrego one WAS the one in Chacarita?

I love breakfast too much to be boycotting without a solid back-up plan, and in their defence, they do a blinding Pain Au Chocolat / Granola Trifle.

Any other takers?

Ah...ok. Well, the other one is on Alvarez Tomas (y Palpa more or less). Still in Chacarita/Colegiales but maybe a bit easier to get to depending on where you live.
It's not going to help you, but I've heard good things about an American breakfast place that's supposed to be opening next month...in Palermo Hollywood.
There's also a good French place called I'epi..where you can get the most amazing pan au chocolat and almond croissants (by far the best in the city). There is one in chacarita along Rosetti...But I think another place has just opened in recoleta or barrio norte. The one in Rosetti is just a bakery-type place (I don't know about the b-norte one) but its worth it if you every fancy a take-out style breakfast.

The best breakfast in Palermo is at my Bed and Breakfast where we offer a proper English fry up as well as all the pastry's, homemade jams, freshly squeezed OJ etc etc you could want. www.abodebuenosaires.com
