Best day or weekend trips from BA

Hey all,

I've mostly stayed put in the city since I've been here, but here's what I've seen:

Colonia de Uruguay
Tigre
Gualyguaychu

Any suggestions on nice day or overnight trips around BA, along with travel tips particular to that destination?

San Antonio de Areco and/or an estancia in the area, perhaps.

You might want to check out Montevideo, just to say you've been. It can't hold a candle to BA in terms of cowbell, but it's worth checking out IMHO, particularly if you like beach or related activities.

Lujan (1 day, basilica and museums), San Miguel del Monte (1/2 day), La Plata (1 day, or more if you like the big science museum), Chascomus (lake).

2-3 days: Tandil, Gualeguaychu in carnaval, ROSARIO!! (hey, its only 300 km)...
