HSBC has a Premier account but you need to have £100k in your account.
Erme... No.

This is copied from the HSBC site:

HSBC Premier benefits are available without a monthly account fee if you meet any of the following criteria:
  • You have either joint savings or investments of at least £50,000 with HSBC in the UK. We request that your main income is paid into your HSBC Premier Bank Account
  • You have an annual income of at least £100,000 paid into your HSBC Premier Bank Account and either
    1. a mortgage(s) of at least £300,000 with HSBC in the UK
    2. a product taken out through our independent financial advisory service, excluding mortgage-related insurance
  • You qualify for HSBC Premier in another country
Please note, if you no longer meet the criteria, a £25 monthly fee may be incurred or your account may be downgraded

So if you don't have the fifty grand, you could consider whether a 25 quid monthly charge is worth it to you. Remember the Premier package comes with free world-wide travel insurance - though you will have to phone them if you are going to be away for more than (I think) 30 days.

I've read the thread quickly but since it seems this has not been mentionned (learned that from this forum):

In every HSBC branch in Argentina, there's one atm which does not have the Banelco logo on it. On this ATM (no Banelco logo), it's possible to withdraw 4.000 pesos at once (doesn't make you save much: just 17 pesos times 3 but still... good to know).
