I would be interested in opinions about the best way to Montevideo. I don't want to fly ever since American Airlines canceled their great jumbo jet service so Pluna and Aerolineas are out.
It seems to me that the fast ferry to Colonia followed by a bus connection to Montevideo would be preferable to four straight hours on the boat. By the way I was really shocked by the First Class fare on Buquebus ($1000 r/t
) compared to what it was when I last took the trip in 2006!!!
