So, since I don't speak Spanish yet, I'm not sure why a $100 bill was kind of rejected. Can someone explain this, please?
The bill looked perfect to me, but the lady wrote 1400 on a piece of paper, and since I assumed it meant she wanted to discount the $100 bill to half the value...from 280 to 140.....I took it back.
Was that what she was telling me? What do you think? I'm just not at all sure what 1400 meant, hahaha.

Was the US$100 bill a "small face" one?

No, it's the big face...but what could 1400 mean, hahaha...
140 or 14,000 makes sense if she wanted to pay me half but 1400???

1400 is an odd amount. I don't have an answer to your question.

1400 doesn't make any sense.

is this somewhere you have been before? I'd try elsewhere

Yes, this is the only place I have been or even know, hahaha. I will try elsewhere...likely in Belgrano.

Cara Chica bills are dicounted a minimum of 3% depending on the cueva.

....Regarding the so-called "small face dollar" bills, Guillermo Francos, Interior Minister, made an important clarification in the last few hours during his speech in Congress....According to a new resolution from the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (BCRA), all financial institutions must accept "small-face" dollar bills in their clients' deposits until December. This is the modification established in "Communication A 8079".

It will benefit currencies issued between 1914 and 1996 that were not accepted in the City of Buenos Aires or were subject to reductions in value of up to 4% in order to be received....This includes the so-called "big face" and "small face" banknotes, as well as worn, wrinkled, written on and damaged banknotes. They will be valid as long as they retain more than 50% of the original paper and the denomination and security features can be seen....
