I am looking for both, I have long curly hair that has suffered tragically since being here 5 months. It is so dry it feels likeit could catch a brush fire lo.
Any advice ladies is welcome. Also any hair products bought locally that work for you..
Thanks!

Call Ryan. He works out of his apt in Recoleta. His cell is 15 3050 2076 or send him an email at [email protected]. I know he does the brazilian straightening treatment (not sure if that's what you mean by blowout) and can testify that he is an excellent colorist. :)

Oh yeah, and for a treatment to deal with the dryness. Your success may vary depending on the kind of hair you have, but usually a protein/oil treatment can work wonders. Extra Virgin Olive Oil combined with a raw egg or a smashed avocado + a little honey and a little extra conditioner (to make enough volume and make it sticky): put it on your hair, wrap in a bag or a showercap, and leave it on for as long as you're comfortable (at least an hour). Wash and condition as normal. If you use the egg, though, watch out! In this case first rinse with cold water and lightly wash, then wash with shampoo a second time (if necessary)with warm water because if you use hot water the egg will cook in your hair--yuck!

Although it seems to be the water that makes the most difference and is something hard to combat I suggest you use a really good shampoo (I use Redken Extreme available in hairdressers) and I find that the application of a leave in Ampollo works wonders every week - I use Alfaparf pink ones...you shouldnt apply conditioner after shampooing as that will close the cuticles..just shampoo, towel dry and apply an ampollo or 2 and dry as normal...

I saw his info on a post for curly hair, I already emailed him :) and Blowout and straightening as similar.. depends on the brands and which site you are looking at.
Thanks for the conditioning tip, I was thinking of coming up with an olive oil concoction in fact. headed to the Coto in a few! ;)

sorry for the spanglish..I have been using the term so long I cannot even think of a decent translation for it..ampoule doesnt quite cut it. Basically it's a small vial of hair treatment, 20mls or so. You buy them in hair specialists shops which are in most barrios..the ones that sell hairdryers, brushes, scissors etc. I think the large one on Cordoba at Palermo Viejo is called La Margarita?? The ones I use cost 115 pesos for 10 ampoules but each one is a little hair miracle in a vial...suerte!

Cordoba & S.Ortiz. La(s) Margarita(s) sound right but I can't remember. They sell Biolage shampoo/conditioner which is what I like to use & it's much cheaper than at the salons. (Well, it's not cheap but it's cheaper).

Hi to all

What I heard that is a good advice is to use the bath cream (the one you keep for while before washing your hair) and use it like a rinse cream instead, that`s a good trick but of course the ampollas that you mention no doubt that must make wonders!
regards
Reina
