Building robbery

Didn`t take long for it to turn in to a crime in BA vs crime in the states thread. It would be nice if just once the comparison wasnt started and then continued in a thread.

Its amazing the amount of crime that is being commited in Recoleta at the moment. And its terrible the increasing crime in the whole city.

Interesting that you mention the growth of Villa 31 nikad, its amazing these socialist governments the crux of their message is about inclusion, being for the pueblo etc yet the poor only amplify.

This is far from Socialism. These kind of government needs ignorant, preferably poor people to vote for them. It is the reason why villas, drugs, illegal immigrants have been given the green light a few years ago. Sad but true.

Dont worry, I agree with you cien por ciento.

Hey Iznogud - you want to see someone lashing out?
Here you go....

FCUK OFF YOU CONDESCENDING CNUT!
So what the fcuk do you think I did? You think I spent the first 47 years of my life avoiding trouble in 4 different countries on 3 different continents and then decided to come to Argentina and paint a sign on my head saying "please come here and rob me"? Do you think I want to be surrounded by 4 morons on the subway whilst I've got my terrified kid in my arms, threatening me with violence if I say anything, whilst they rifle through my pockets?

The only thing I did wrong was to look like a gringo. Losing my documents and a few pesos to a pickpocket, or having a cap snatched off my head isn't any big deal (and constitutes the level of 12 of the incidents), but still counts as a crime in my book, even though I got tired of reporting them a long time ago and have therefore only ever registered 5 of them.

What you need to do is think before you post. Are you the type that also blames a woman for being raped because she's wearing a short skirt? Because that's exactly the same logic.

There, now that is proper lashing out (to a thoroughly deserving victim).

Huh? I wasn't trying to be rude at all. And quite frankly your response is strange. I was only trying to get constructive information out of you. If you seriously act this way to a simple question, then I think you have some anger management issues.

No, I didn't assume you had a sign that said "rob me". And I do acknowledge that crime has increased over the years. But obviously if you had 19 incidents of crime in 5 years I'd say you need to change something in your daily routine, habits, etc.

I wasn't intending to be rude at all and just wanted to know more about it as 19 incidents of crime in 5 years is very worrisome. I didn't mean any offense to my question.

No, I'm not the type that blames a woman when she gets raped. However, if a woman tells me she got raped 19 times in 5 years I will inquire a bit more information just as I asked you. Not blaming her at all but certainly I'd ask her more about the situation. Because quite frankly if someone told me that, I'd ask more details just as I'd assume you would. And if you wouldn't then I'd be worried.

Take two chill pills and call me in the morning.

Seriously, just as ER said, I 'd be worried.
But I say so the same way I'm now concerned that my kids got into trouble twice in jst a couple of weeks. The second time they did well and were paying enough attention to move ahead of potentially adverse events. That means that they listened to me, the advise I provided them and made good effective use of it; that also means that they might look or behave like easy preys and/or there are more predators out there.

Take all that data and make something useful out of it too. Can't speak for ER but I can tell you your personal stats worry me (they constitute a more direct source of information). I think he ment well. Can't you not?

Exactly. I didn't mean any offense at all. I think most normal people would infer that. And I think any reasonable person would find that worrisome and ask more about it without intending any offense.

The robbery was on French near Pueyrredon, as reported in Clarin today.

Correct. French near Pueyrredon.

Btw, I suppose my reason for posting was to "contribute to the body of knowledge" around this stuff. For me, obviously, these building attacks were more abstract until this happened. Being 1 "portón" away from this kind of assault certainly makes it more real. Perhaps my building was profiled? Perhaps I was, etc?

Regarding constructive action to take, it doesn't seem like there are many options. Be ultra paranoid?

Regarding Villa 31, who knows. Regarding "XYZ happened in the US". Who cares.

Relatedly, I had the opportunity to sit with three Federal Police officers the other day for about 5 hours. We were waiting for 1) the CSI team and then 2) the morgue to come because a young woman on the 8th floor decided to jump and died on the patio. They said that all the police hate CFK and that the government's policies make the job of the police practically impossible. To arrest someone they need to actually wait until a supervisor arrives. The police are the interrogated about the events leading to the arrest. If the person is actually arrested there is so much paperwork involved that the person is often released before they can get all the forms completed.

They said they are not affraid of going into the villas. They are prohibited.

One should ignore the LOCAL" I VOS?" reaction , a strategy to divert the focus of the discussion

I dunno whether they hate CFK or not, they were the same since I can remember, and trust me, that was way way way before the Ks

Yes, too so true...- and let's not forget who controls the local police - Her royal highness, the botox hag herself - Kretina Kirchner the sworn enemy of Macri...and yes, most of the Federal police cannot stomach her either.

che, the difference is that in other countries the police will investigate and often find the perpetrators. Here, the police just turn a blind eye....
