No, that means there are hundreds, but it depends on your taste.
My latest faves-
Chochan- which is lunfardo for pig. Pork oriented modern fusion, not expensive, not fancy, really really good, in San Telmo. Pulled Pork sandwich, argentine style.
Butcher- elegant, tiny, simple, unusual place- only a few sandwiches, and salads- but amazing sandwiches and salads- lomo and brie salad, or the cordero sandwich with arugula, very satisfying meals. The two guys who run it make everything from scratch, for you, and its killer. On Costa Rica, in Palermo Hollywood.
Yeite Cafe- Villa Crespo. Out of the way location, worth the trip. Avante Garde designer Jessica Trosman built this place as part of her showroom and workshop complex, probably so she could eat there. Really great creative dishes, courtesy of her partner, chef Fernando Trocca, of Sucre fame.
Small, funky, not expensive, wonderful food.
All three of these are very indicative of creative cooking right now in buenos aires.
if you want a parilla that is 1950s style, these aint it.
All three are informal, but creative and yummy.
Fancier is out there too- Sucre is always good. Astor is good. Los Pizzaras.
