Does anyone know if there is a direct bus from Iguazu to Mendoza and if so through what company can I book from? Thanks.

The long distance bus tickets tend to be very expensive. I don't know if it is still this way, but a few years ago, it was cheaper to take a plane rather than a bus.

Unless you're a resident (so have a discount w/ Aerolíneas and Austral) and compare it to the most expensive variant of bus travel (full cama), long distances busses aren't more expensive than flying...

I'm surprised to find out that there's not much between the two for a non-resident. The best I can find for a non-resident is USD 416 http://www.momondo.com/flights/?search=true&O=IGR&D=MDZ&DD=01-12-2011 while the bus fare from Andesmar is AR$ 800 Semicama http://www.andesmar.com/shop/HorariosDestinos.asp?lang=en

So if you get a residents discount then the air fare wins, hands down, on price.

Lucas, my whitewashing friend, HI website is as out-of-date and incorrect as your beloved INDEC (said with love in my heart!)

More like 925 to 1,050 pesos now:

http://www.plataforma10.com/Servicios#buscar/2939/315/17-12-2011/1/13472

36 hours, two nights, leaves at 9 pm, and and rolls into Mendoza between 9 am and 11:30 am (dependably late) the day after the day after. Barring bus breakdowns (common now for Andesmar), blockades or strikes.
