Business Ideas For Argentina

Dent removal service for the little (and BIG) dents in cars from the hailstorms. We had a storm in Belgrano a couple of years ago. I was on the street and jumped into a bank behind the shatterproof glass. The hail stones were peeling metal signs off of store fronts. Came and went in less than 10 minutes.

- Open one place selling Shawarmas (plus open more places after)

Pros: very little competition, would likely work well, not much space is needed (take away only)
Cons: you need employees

Dody on Rodriguez Peña and Santa Fe in Recoleta is doing this, and I would have expected them to be busier. I can't vouch for the quality, but I am vegetarian and their falafel hits the spot. 20 pesos for a sandwich! They also deliver, which is handy.

Kappa _kaiten_ Sushi is my gig!

Bring the affordable Sushi prices to Bs As. You sit down, don't order anything, just watch the Sushi whoosh by your own eyes! Grab what you like, all same priced at US$0.90 cents a plate, yeah you read that right _ninety cents a plate! Belt conveyour at the counter where you sit then watch the Sushi galore arriving right to you mouth!

pros: It is going to be a smash hit.Guarantee to make me a good pocket change and to my associates as well.

con: A nightmare to import its system and implement into Argentina J-styled eatery, delin' with the Coimas and the custom taxes, it is going to be very stressful but i have got to do it.

- Buy 50 hectares of appropriate land to cultivate black truffles

Pros: can make you very rich in 10/15 years, the luxury market never suffers that much from crisis, middle class is growing in Latin America so will the demand for such products, you don't need many employees (in fact you need none if you live on the spot)
Cons: investment, you need to wait 7 years for the first harvest, you need to take into account the chemical properties of the soil

There is an ongoing project "Trufas del Nuevo Mundo" for growing truffles in 50 hectareas near Coronel Suárez, Buenos Aires.

I always wished some one would open a real NY city style Deli! Yeah it could serve some Philly cheesesteaks too GS Dirtboy.,..,but I'm really missing the overstuffed pastrami and Ruben sandwiches with maybe some real sour kosher pickles, matzo ball soup and extra dense chocolate layer cake.....

it's far from Alabama ice tea, but coke just started selling ice tea here under their FUZE label. comes in peach and lemon in a plastic bottle.
very sweet, but works wonders for hot days and hangovers! ;)

Yeah and my son is the new brand manager so go for it!

Can I just sit at the end of the conveyor and have the sushi fall into my mouth? Will save me the trouble of having to pick it up off of the plate. :)

For the benefit of anyone browsing the archives in search of a sand-blasting service, as suggested by the OP, I came across the name of the company we used last year. They're called Arenado Sur and this is the website. http://arenadosur.com.ar/
We used them to get rid of charring on our house facade where vandals had set light to a mattress, the resulting fire had actually burnt away some of the granite. They also got rid of some grafitti.

Greeting card company

Pros: Little competition form what I can see, it feels impossible to go out and find a card for an occasion. Argentines seem to like the idea of arriving with a card, think of all the holidays! Kids' day, friends' day, spring day, Dia de independencia, dia de la Bandera, etc.

Cons: physical street presence leaves you vulnerable to coimas, shake-downs, and crime. Alternative would be just to create the cards and sell them to kioskos and such.
