Customs agent confiscated my Costco GORMET HOT DOGS: Polish Dogs. Devastated. All the care I took to keep them frozen. What a zoo leaving customs and getting out to fresh air. If you thought is was a gauntlet before, this new revised edition is a killer.
Be safe guys

Tighter than it was a couple of years ago, when I brought in some cheese and Danish bacon?
Sorry to hear about the hot dogs mate.

I try not to be overly critical of anyone on this board as we all run into difficult situations at one time or another. That's the nature of living here. Anyway it's silly to think that you can transport uncooked meat or food of any kind aboard a passenger airplane from one continent to another. It is not allowed per internationally food and hygiene safety laws. I remember once going from New York City to Toronto and someone had a package of smoked salmon that that was confiscated from a very angry passenger who started crying and threatening airport security. She was escorted in handcuffs to a room in the back of the security area and I don't know what became of her. I also remembering people having all of that lovely tropical fruit confiscated boarding a flight from San Juan, Puerto Rico to New York City. Some complaints, nothing major and certainly the airport workers get themselves a nice supply of daily fresh fruit. This is not an Argentina rule but an international one.

"COSTCO gourmet hot dogs"???? Why????? The Tejano and I are smoking the Germans' (Bratwurst Argentina) sausages. If they are not better than something from Costco I'll eat my hat....or all the sausages. Get real, eat local!

Personally, I prefer Ar chorizo to any Costco food.Unless you miss preservative from Costco food. Those sausages will not go bad for weeks if
you leave it outside. I usually eat the 1st two, and get rid of the rest of the bag quickly. Sorry, no offense to your liking. One man's food can be someone else
poison.

I am not able to find anything like the Argentine chorizo in California. The Mexican choriza is too hot and smoky, full of starch and red food dye.
The Italian ones are of too much herbs and artificial stuff. The Argentina chorizo is just right, not too much pepper or herb, the meat is not blended into powders,
(that's the key), instead, it's cut to small chunks. Put it on the grill, it's perfect. In order to have similar chorizos in CA, I have to make it myself. Does anyone know where I can get chorizo in US ? gracias. (I have some Argie friends who get chorizo from Berkeley Bowl, it becomes as hard as rocks when you grill them, nothing called chorizo in US is as good as the ones found at Argentina parrilla grills)

Ohhhh, here we go again. My choriso is better than your choriso......................................................
