Can I leave my job once I have received residency?

I’ve already had one year of residency on a work visa in Argentina, and have just gone through the process of renewing my residency for another year. The trámite already shows up as RESUELTO on the Migraciones website, and I have also received the Disposición de Residencia. From what I understand from last year, all I have to do now is wait for my new DNI to arrive.

My question though, is, am I now able to leave my current employer? (I wasn’t with them just for the sake of getting residency again, it’s just that another opportunity has presented itself to me). Would it be safer to wait until I’ve actually received my new DNI? Or am I now free to change employers as I choose?

I hope the question makes sense! Just wondering if anyone has any experience.

If your trámite shows residencia permanente, then yes.

However, if it shows residencia temporaria (most likely) then you will still need to renew residencia in the next year. So you need to ensure that you will have valid grounds for renewal of residencia for the next year.
