Can I vote?

MAcri had a clear majority in the rich area of the city (Palermo, Recoleta, Belgrano, Nuñez), and he even won in the poor part (the South). Filmus had his best percentages in the South, and Pino Solanas in the West of the city (but never reached even the 15% in any district). The question remains why Macri won in districts that are relegated by his administration and whose population mostly utilizes services that Macri despises (public education) or doesn't want to support (public hospitals), or that were directly attacked by the UCEP. It seems that advertising and the support of the Clarin-La Nacion conglomerate works very well, or that being president of Boca Juniors is enough, but some sociologist should explain the reasons for this vote (since this part of society supports the national government).

My impression after talking to the locals is that Filmus just isn't very likeable, and Macri is the devil they know. Even the Cristina supporters said that they prefer a divided national/local government, because there would be runaway corruption with one party running both the city and the country. And these are porteños in barrios like San Telmo, Barracas, Boedo and Caballito.

It's curious, looking at the vote breakdown, to see that Filmus did better in the Chacarita/Villa Crespo comuna than he did in mine. Never thought of that area as belonging to the 'Zona del sur'; it's right off of Palermo and Belgrano.

About Caballito, it is considered the "Palermo/Belgrano of the West", it has good areas both north and south of Rivadavia Ave., and its citizens are more like those of Belgrano-Palermo than those of Boedo or let´s say, Mataderos.
