Hi,

A good friend of mine from the US is going to come visit me for 10 days, and is planning on leaving this Friday. She just realized today that her passport expires in March 2012. There are some mentions on sites that say it is necessary to have a passport with more than 6 months of validity left to enter Argentina. Does anyone know if this is true? On the Argentine migrations site it just says you need a valid passport to enter from what I can find.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

No, her passport must just be valid on arrival.

Q: Can you enter w/ less than 6 months left on passport?

A: Yes. Her passport just needs to be valid when you arrive.

A couple of years ago I was able to enter Argentina in December on a US passport that expired in February. The US airline brought the passport expiration date to my attention, saying there might be problems on the other end. However, no one mentioned it again.
