Carbon monoxide detectors?

Does anyone know where to find these in BA? My partner will be renting out a small, older apartment in Mar del Plata, and would like to install a CO detector beforehand (for peace of mind more than anything.) However, we've had zero luck tracking one down -- Metrogas does not provide them, a local gas store said they were out of stock and would cost 550 pesos to buy, but most places just had no idea what we were talking about. Does anyone in BA even use these things?

I just had one brought down from the States, but they are available on Mercadolibre.com.ar too - at double the cost.
