Cash or credit?

I'd say the majority of the places I go to offer at least a 10% discount for cash payments, sometimes more. That you get a better exchange rate vs card is icing on the cake. Given how expensive BA is nowadays a 20%+ savings makes a big difference
Used to be 20% most places

That being said, have a good credit card that doesn't charge foreign transaction fees on hand in case you run out of cash that day.
i have not found one yet. I better get back on that search

If you want an indication if the Visa rate calculator will show a better or worse rate tomorrow, then watch if the MEP closed up or down today.

I have posted in the past that Mastercard and Visa have the a similar rate, though I realize that is not true these days. Mastercard calculator is updating 24 hours after the last MEP dólar market update. Not the ~8 hours later that Visa uses.

That was significant yesterday after a big Monday jump. Visa was 2.5% better all day Tuesday until Master caught up at 415pm

Any work around to use US credit card to pay local utilities onlne here?
Tried virtual number via privacy.com but get Unrecognized card error.

Short answer...not that I know of. There are many methods to pay, but they all in one way or another touch an Argentine banking network. Trying to avoid that completely without going through an intermediary is difficult.
