I've been buying and really enjoying chauchau. But now the season seems to be over. I've seen something similar but a bit fatter but also flatter. Maybe these things (https://www.johnsoncitypress.com/me... carry the name of a frugal mountain family. ) "Walker Sister" beans. Certainly the same family but I wonder 1) if the taste is similar? And 2) if they can be prepared the same way? I prepare the chauchau by just cutting off both ends and then cutting up what's left into 1 1/4 - 1 1/2 in pieces and then steaming for around 8 minutes. I add some ham or bacon flavoring to the steamed beans. Thanks, Bob
