"che"

Mmh, it's not weird. Just as weird would be thinking that "che" came from the mapuche, guarani or stuff like. They would use it in Paraguay, chile, etc. just as we do. They don't.

Spanish conquerors came from very different parts of Spain during the centuries. Buenos aires was a very isolated part of the colonies and some older and regional Spanish features remained here (just like with the vos) while faded away on the rest of the colonies which had much more direct contact with Spain and the language innovations going on there.

It's news to me that Che is used outside Argentina. Weird though, cause Spanish people conquered most of the continent, how come Che is only heard here. I don't buy it.
