hows the salary for a chef de cuisine position here in bs.as??

I graduated from the Art Institue of Nyc
Trained at Bouley, Gotham bar & grill, David bourke Townhouse
so I have experience

Besides your great qualifications I dont know about your chances of getting a good salary without having a DNI and CUIL. ( identity card and taxes)

I met the former private chef for Billy Joel here. He was driving a taxi because it paid more.

I would contact Dan Saltshaker who is a local chef with a closed door restaurant and a blog. Without working papers I would think your only chance is off the books in a closed door restaurant ala Saltshaker, Casa Felix or BA Paladar.

Two years ago, a young chef (but with a solid Education), in a medium/upscale restaurant of Palermo Viejo (full meal costing around 80/100 pesos without wine at that time, would be 120/140 nowadays), was making 2500 pesos (would be around 3500/4000 pesos today), and he was Argentinean.

If you have enough money to invest, rent a nice PH and open your own closed door restaurant!

All you need (in addition to the money to invest/lose) is a landlord who is willing to rent a residential apartment without a garantia to someone who is also going to operate an unlicensed business on the premises.

At least you can work here because you were born here! If you find something and decide to stay, you should be able to get your DNI and CUIL within a month. Just be sure to find out about future Argentine tax implications that might apply if and when you return to the US to live and work.;)

Suerte!
