Cocina Sunae: A new Pan-Asian
puerta cerrada that just opened last week.

I went to the opening last Friday night. Nothing but good things to say about it. From the cool side patio area where you have cocktails while meeting the other people there for the evening (and where you can also peek into the kitchen to see the first course being prepared) to the post-dessert conversation, it was a great evening.

The food is "Pan Asian" and offered a delicious sweet and spicy dipping sauce with the shrimp appetizer as well as a yummy relish/chutney (whatever you would like to call it) with the
Pla Lard Prik whole market fish. Just yum, yum, yum.
Everyone at the table was excited to have a dinner with flavor. (I've complained on other boards about the food in BsAs, but there was nothing to complain about here.)
Since this puerta cerrada is just starting out, it is just open on Friday nights. Eventually, when it catches on, Sunae (the chef/owner) would like to be open on Friday
and Saturday nights.
Also, I started out with one of the
Cucumber Ginger Sakini's that they offer and then I drank a bottle of wine that I brought. They have wine available, but you can also bring your own. And since I had a bottle of Valbona Syrah Rosé that I had purchased at
0800-VINO. (

So the food, ambiance, and service were all spectacular. I'm considering trying to stear a group there for my next birthday. Because I will not have an asado for the 3rd year in a row. (Even though I only buy Lomo & the one brand of lean chorizo.)
