Wow - Thanks for this thread! I didn't know those colectivos in BA were really going to get you anywhere - I always thought they were only used for killing pedestrians...
 
@Lobo Marino: To give you some statistics: There are over 10,000 colectivos in use in Buenos Aires City + GBA, with about 1.5bn tickets sold each year.
