Hi folks,

Normally I take the buquebus but after seeing the fees on their website I opted to go for Colonia Express for a brief holiday this weekend. I've been told that Colonia Express departs from Darsena Norte in the morning and arrives in Darsena Sur in the evening, however the website gave the location as Darsena Sur.

I'm not sure where it departs exactly and it doesn't say on the ticket, and I definitely don't want to show up at the wrong dock on the morning of departure. Whoever has specifics on this please let me know.

Many thanks!

Don't put yourself through the pain of Colonia Express. Go with Seacat instead. You depart from the same place as Buquebus and pay only a fraction of the price (just make sure you ask for the big boat).

departs from here

Take a taxi down and join the queue for taxis when you come back. I wouldn't recommend walking around there.

It departs from Darsenur sur and returns there as well. I take Colonia Express to Uruguay all the time. It's on their website.

I take it all the time with no problems at all,
It leaves right across the casino ship.U can take the buses 20 and the 8 too (it ends right there)

I took it once but, since I live in Palermo, it was less convenient than the Buquebus terminal.

Thanks everyone! I normally do the buquebus but after looking at the prices it seemed Colonia Express was cheaper.

I'll probably take 130 down then hitch a taxi back to town when I get back, not sure how much money I'll actually be saving.

Thanks again for all the replies.

Whatever ship you take back plan to arrive in B.A. tipo 21:00 hours , arriving at peak traffic hour is a mess, take my word for it!

In the CE web page it's not possible to go and return the same day?

The price quoted for a roundtrip includes the 35% AFIP Tax retention? see below.

yes the 130 has a stop directly across the street. and then a taxi back would be better if at night. my departure at 9 was supposed to arrive at 10 and it came a bit later (10:30/10:45 I think) so dont worry about rush hour if you're coming back that late. Also some people have had really bad experiences with Colonia Express but others no. I went once and it was totally fine. Smooth sailing. If the weather is rough though you might not want to go, it's a very small boat and i've heard horror stories about going in a storm.
