Colonia visa run

Quick question: I'll be doing the Colonia run next week, with a week left on my current visa. Do I need to say anything when re-entering to avoid them just letting me back in on my current visa, or do they automatically give a brand new visa even with a week left on my current one?

Wait for confirmation from a BA veteran on the following: I've made the run twice, and what you need to get is just a stamp in your passport documenting your entry into the country on that date. You don't get a knew visa per se, but must simply leave and re-enter every ninety days as a tourist and have it documented. So just make sure they stamp it.
