Reading further, it seems that it is indeed real footage without any post-production (special effects). Basically is a complex arrangement of robot manipulated white boards, projectors, pre-programmed moving cameras and pre-programmed lights. The perfect angle synchronization between the cameras, projectors and the robots manipulating the boards is what gives the illusion of 3D.
