I remember the Ideal when it was actually a confitería - no tango, no commercialism, just an old fashioned cafe that had long been neglected. At that time the micro center was more vibrant, at least less decadent than now. I have a feeling that the new Ideal will be a place for events rather than a working confitería but we shall see.Confiteria Ideal is indeed a gem ! Years ago I`d eat their mediochre lunches, just because the setting was so beautiful !
