Yes you can if willing to buy house in San Jose area but not in Santa Clara-Sunnyvale area.
Definitely doable there,know a few younger couple just bought their houses in San Jose,they are friends of mine and not making more than $120k per year. Bay Area still expensive despite.

So Cal is very expensive. I used to have allot of problems recruiting employees from outside CA . The entrance fee is huge but once you are in the game thing flatten out.

That's probably the starting required salary for Malibu, Beverly Hills, and much of the Hollywood hills. You could probably get by on a little less in Compton, Watts, and Corona.
