Counterfeit Money

Passing a bill you know is counterfeit is a crime.

Of course, but I live in a country which worships criminals... Couldn't care less, it's hard to prove you knew it anyway. I asked a friend if I can go to bank to change it, and he told me better not, I would just have troubles without any positive outcome.

I can't spend a bill that I know is counterfeit. The smaller watermark is the best indication of counterfeit. I won't even pass it on to someone who asks for money.

I plan to keep it as an example to show visitors what to look for. I will make a point of showing it to MORE Money on Libertad.

Go to a Dark bar or club and pay with it...!!

I have never seen a counterfeit hundred peso note.
And I have seen just a few of those bills, in my time.
I think the actual amount of fake bills in circulation is tiny.

I have only had one in all my years(that I know) a $20peso note about 6/7 yrs ago but I was recently given a fake $100usd which hurt more!

you can buy conterfeit 100's in town. they are common, and often given to tourists as they dont know the differrence !

they cost about 50 pesos :)
